Still Life with David and Red Dahlia

This 16 x 20 " painting was accomplished with many attempts at painting in and around lots of chaos with company and a busy schedule.  I think it took three attempts over three months but I couldn't give it up!

"Sunflowers with Lindy"

These sunflowers were such an inspiration! And I thoroughly enjoyed painting them alongside my friend, Lindy. 11 x 14"

Vegetable Series

This is Dan's idea and one I like. I'll be adding to the "Vegetable Series" as time goes on. These little paintings are 6 x 4" but yet they take quite a bit of time! Ever taste kohlarbri? Delicious!

Pears and Browns

This was a study when teaching a fellow painter how to mass in. We worked with a complimentary palette of purples and yellows and fully absorbed ourselves in the warmth of these colors. 16 x 20"

"Flamingos"

This painting is 36 x 24". I really enjoyed designing and painting it. It came from a day with my grandchildren at Animal Kingdom at Disney. I plan on designing another to hang with it and have some concepts for square paintings with these birds. I didn't worry about how "realistic" it was, but wanted it to reflect the brightness I saw when I was inspired by them.

"Shangri-La"

This is a large painting: 30 x 40'. It was a commission for a couple who love this old hotel in Bonita Springs. The difficulty was getting a proper photo because it's been closed up for repairs for several years and I haven't actually SEEN it. It was a test of some creativity, that's for sure!

Plums and Daisies

This 18 x 24" painting was painted with a unique palette of colors. Using only the complementary colors of purple helps to pull the painting together as a whole. This one took a long time but I really love using grays and the complements of colors to unify a painting.
