Alstroemeria

This is the first in an upcoming series of small works of flowers and veggies. I loved the contrast of the flower against the dark background. I hope you do too. 6 x 4" in Oil.

A Long Walk

Here is the final painting of lots of preparatory small works to find the mood and atmosphere of what I wanted to convey at  Riverside Park in Bonita. Hmmm, makes me want to go for a walk. 10 x 20"

Plein Aire Study for a Long Walk

There is a really cool spot in Bonita Springs on a dock that John Cooney and I decided to try and do some plein aire painting. My first attempt was not very successful, so I figured out what I didn't like and came up with this study.  The larger painting was then again painted on location and in the studio with this little painting as a reference. 5 x 10"

Onion with Personality

After riding on a golf cart to a farmers market (how fun is that!) I picked up a couple of beautiful onions with these gorgeous stems. When I put it on the table, the personality of it's droopy leaves just begged to be remembered with paint! 12 x 9"

Nestled Cabin

Sissy Blakslee and I tooled around her neighborhood in Fort Myers, Florida until we found this beautiful group of pines with a cabin nestled in the background. It reminded me of Vermont, but yet I felt warm and content while painting in 80 degrees (sorry Vermonters!) 9 x 12"

Still Life with David and Red Dahlia

This 16 x 20 " painting was accomplished with many attempts at painting in and around lots of chaos with company and a busy schedule.  I think it took three attempts over three months but I couldn't give it up!
